This Horry County and South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) project involves 1.6 miles of widening for Glenn's Bay Road in Horry County, SC. Additionally, US 17 Business is anticipated to be widened, and there is urban interchange planned for the US 17 Bypass/Glenn's Bay Road intersection. A natural resources inventory was conducted of the project study area noting the existing vegetation, water resources, wildlife and whether potential habitat for federally protected species exists. A report noting the natural resource inventory was completed along with a biological assessment of all federally-listed species for Horry County, SC. An evaluation of any 'on-site' mitigation potential was performed. Field data from delineated wetlands and streams were transferred to the standard delineation forms and the associated 'Rapanos' forms. A Jurisdictional Package per SCDOT guidelines has been submitted to the US Army Corps of Engineers. SEPI has maintained coordination with the USACE. A verification meeting with the US Army Corps of Engineers has been held. A Section 404/401 permit application for project construction (likely Individual Permit) will be completed along with any needed work to comply with Coastal Zone Management Act.
