SEPI Employee Completes Bike Tour

SEPI is pleased to announce that employee, Mike Jackson and another cyclist successfully completed their bike across America tour. “10 states, 3,943 miles…and we made it! Over the Appalachians, Ozarks, Rockies, and Blue Mountains, through forests, prairies, plains, and deserts, across the Mississippi, Arkansas, Ohio, and Columbia Rivers, from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean…in 68 riding days we made it across the country on bicycles” exclaimed Mike Jackson’s biking partner Sarah Searcy in their online journal http://www.crazyguyonabike.com/doc/?o=1&doc_id=12051&v=6d

SEPI was pleased to sponsor Mike and Sarah on this grueling and exciting adventure. They rode their bikes on what’s known as the TransAmerica Trail, which follows various, mostly rural, low traffic roads from Yorktown, VA, to Astoria, OR. Mike returned to work in July following his 11 week adventure and remarked “It was an amazing trip, and it made us realize that there are no “solo” endeavors. We relied on an extraordinary network of people and services, in communities large and small, and without SEPI’s support, it wouldn’t have materialized.”

Mike has also confirmed that North Carolina definitely has the best roads.

We are delighted Mike returned safely.
