SEPI was responsible for the offsite roadway improvement designs for the E-33 Elementary School Development in Cary, NC. Offsite improvement designs included widening O’Kelly Chapel to one-half the ultimate cross-section along the property frontage; adding a right-turn bay at the signalized intersection of Green Level Church Road/O’Kelly Chapel Road; and adding/extending turn lanes at the signalized intersection of NC-55/O’Kelly Chapel Road.
Part of the work contracted included a survey of the NC Hwy 55/O’Kelly Chapel Road intersection. Utilizing a combination of traditional survey methods and high definition scanning instruments, SEPI was able to quickly and efficiently complete the survey of this congested intersection. Survey services included property owner identification; land records research; horizontal and vertical control using GNSS and conventional methods; property ties; topographic and planimetric surveys of all features within road right of way; utility surveys; and basemapping in Geopak/Microstation format.Services included survey; roadway design; hydraulics design; utility design/coordination; traffic control and pavement marking design; traffic signal and ITS design; and signing.
