SEPI prepared preliminary plans, right-of-way plans, and construction plans for approximately 0.4-miles of urban widening along Ligon Mill Road between US-1A and Wal-Mart driveway. The widening improvement consists of two sections: A 4-lane to 5-lane section from Wal-Mart driveway to Brimfield Springs Lane; and a 3-lane to 5-lane section from Brimfield Springs Lane to US-1A intersection. This project included the design of a second east and westbound left-turn lane as well as an exclusive right-turn lane in both directions. There were numerous underground utilities within the project limits including a nitrogen line. Design plans included signal design, drainage design, erosion control, pavement marking plan, and traffic control plans.
