SEPI was contracted by CH2M HILL to provide boundary surveying and mapping of Land Use Control (LUC) boundaries for Site 49 at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune. Field survey operations were performed by survey technicians with current 40 hour HAZWOPER certification and included adherence to SEPI’s Health and Safety Plan as well as the clients’ health and safety programs. Health and safety protocols included preparation and compliance with Activity Hazard Analysis and daily planning/Health & Safety meetings. Field surveying required various tasks including: control surveys using GNSS to establish state plane coordinates on site control points; establishing LUC positions and placing survey markers; and conventional surveys through vegetated areas. Perimeter of boundary survey was 14,000 linear feet over 105 acres. Deliverables included a survey report containing a project narrative; daily progress reports; NC State Plane coordinate list of LUC points; GNSS verification and redundancy checks; OPUS solution reports; and field notes. A survey plat was developed, submitted for approval by stakeholders, and recorded at the Onslow County Register of Deeds Office.
