SEPI was selected by NCDOT to provide roadway design, hydraulic design, and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) compliance services for the replacement of a 70-foot concrete deck on a timber joist bridge, with a four span, 200-foot pre-stressed girder bridge. SEPI prepared a Categorical Exclusion (CE) in compliance with NEPA regulations and coordinated with the North Carolina Floodplain Mapping program under the requirements of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with NCDOT. A natural resource technical report (NRTR), hydrogeomorphic assessment and planting plan were completed by SEPI to assist in a wetland restoration plan for anticipated impacts to existing wetlands. SEPI also prepared the Erosion and Sediment Control (ESC) design, including the construction sequence and access plan. Field data, applicable permit requirements and prevailing resources were used to assess the potential impacts to natural communities, water resources, and federally-protected species and their habitat requirements.
