The Ecosystem Enhancement Program contracted with SEPI to complete a stream restoration design and to conduct construction administration for this restoration project. The project involves over 5,000 LF of stream, including 1,.600 LF of stream restoration, 1,600 LF of stream enhancement and 2,000 LF of enhancement due to exotic vegetation removal.

SEPI completed a Categorical Exclusion checklist per EEP guidance. SEPI reviewed the tract and completed an abbreviated Ecological Resources Technical Report to supplement a previously completed Feasibility Study for the project.

Stream design involved: existing condition assessment; coordination with property owners; and natural channel design in an urbanized area of these counties. SEPI also designed a Stormwater BMP design as a water quality benefit to eliminate a ditch from a farm field and the project lies in the Randleman Lake Watershed, and the stream has been designated as a nutrient sensitive water. A pedestrian bridge has been design ed and will be implemented on the site along with a ford crossing. Construction administration duties include the preparing the bid packages. SEPI is managing the acquisition of a flood plain development permit and the design of the pipe crossing and stormwater BMP.
